Dragonfly Fine Arts Camps

School-year arts camps for self-sufficient 3½ – 6 year olds (approximately preschool through kindergarten). Campers must be able to use the restroom and open their snacks independently.

All classes take place in and around our classroom in the historic University Heights building in Seattle’s University District. See our Location page for details and directions.

Fee: 75 per 3 week session or 150 per 6 week session. All supplies included.

Dragonfly is an arts-integrated, child-centered, half-day camp for preschoolers. Themes focus on building cooperation and confidence through play and exploration.

Session 1: Snowflake Superstars

Our December Dragonfly Camp is a shorter session, but with just as much fun! And at just the right time of year for parents. Kids will craft ornaments, engage with several holiday stories from around the world, dramatically act out fun theatre games, and sing winter-themed songs together! Parents: Join us for the music/art/performance combo and mini holiday bazaar at the last part of the 12/16 camp day!

Consecutive Fridays, 9:30 am – 12:30 pm

Session 2: Under the Sea!

Music- and performance-themed camp for kinder-aged merfolk and pirates alike! Vibrant singalongs and costumed stagings will be a huge part of this fine-arts-infused camp, and we'll sneak in a little bit of ocean sciences too! Such wonderful things surround you, in the Under the Sea camp! We'll host a mini recital/concert event during the last part of the 2/24 camp day!

Consecutive Fridays, 9:30 am – 12:30 pm
January 20 and 27, February 3, 10, 17, and 24 (2017)

Session 3: Over the Rainbow

Using different art-making media (from pastels to sculpting), young artists will explore the spectrum of light. Each week we'll focus on a different color! We'll sing and tell stories together too, including some rich fables centered on the myths of the rainbow. Then, after the kids finish their masterpieces, we invite you to join us at a gallery showcase during the last part of the 5/19 camp day!
